The European Researchers’ Night is the largest pan-European initiative to promote research and innovation. It has been held annually in Slovakia since 2007, on the last Friday in September. On this day, the event runs concurrently in up to 25 countries, with more than 1.5 million visitors and more than 25,000 researchers taking part each year.
The aim of the event is to bring the work of scientists, their achievements and their real-life applications to the attention of the general public. It is also an effort to improve understanding of the impact and influence of the work of researchers and innovators on the lives of many people.
